A Love Story

The name origin

Moving to Antwerp in 1988, Susan Ockers rolled into the city's bustling diamond sector. Little did she know her story would take an unexpected turn.

Antony Okker had been working in the diamond district for many years when he first spotted Susan and on one night, their paths crossed in Antwerp's city centre. A chance encounter quickly turned into an unforgettable love story. The inseparable couple blossomed into a beautiful family and had two sons, Ilan and Robin Okker.

When Susan Ockers and Antony Okker discovered their nearly identical surnames, it felt like an incredible coincidence—or, as the couple likes to put it, a fate encounter and a love which was meant to be. Today, their enduring love story is the inspiration behind the name 'Okker & Ockers'.

REVIVING TRADITION

The Okker family has been part of the diamond industry for over 300 years. Although Antony and Susan stepped away in 2004, their sons, Ilan and Robin still felt a strong family connection to the diamond sector.

Aspiring to follow in their family’s footsteps, they ventured into the world of fine jewellery. Both brothers realised that Antony’s experience, combined with Susan’s artistic feeling for design, marked the perfect opportunity to claim their place in the diamond world.

Ever since, a unified family vision was born: to build a fine-jewellery house worthy of representing a longstanding family tradition.
